In the third issue of the recently published economic magazine, Raamatupidamisuudised 2022, the article “Applying for permits based on the Value-Added Tax Act” by Jaak Siim, partner of Cuesta Law Office, was published.
Pursuant to the Value-Added Tax Act, a person liable to value added tax must obtain permission from the Tax and Customs Board to perform certain actions or to obtain a right in several cases prescribed by law. In general, the permit obtained allows the taxable person to use principles different from the general rules in the calculation of VAT, but obtaining the permit requires submitting a motivated application to the tax authority and fulfilling the prerequisites for its submission. The published article examines, point by point, the cases provided for in the law, in the event of which the taxable person must request permission from the tax authority.
The journal Raamatupidamisuudised is the first economic publication aimed at accountants and financiers published in Estonia since 1995. The target group of the magazine, which is published eight times a year, is accountants, financiers, auditors, entrepreneurs and other persons interested in the field. Jaak Siim article can be read by magazine subscribers or registered users of the accounting and legal news website rup.ee.
